A Home Office Renovation

We had the privilege of converting this once formal dining room into a cozy home office for the homeowner.

Since the space was no longer serving its original purpose, the client aimed to utilize it more effectively.

GOOD BONES AND A CHALLENGE

  • This isn’t the client’s forever home. While they required a private office, they also wanted to preserve the room's potential to function as a formal dining area when the house is eventually on the market.

ELEMENTS WE CONSIDERED KNOWING THIS

  • Light fixture that will work well over an office desk and dining room table

  • Curtains that will work perfectly in either type of room

  • Enclosing the space with small openings that still make it feel open to the rest of the home.

  • Pocket doors so that it can be closed off completely while being used as an office.

ENJOY THE TRANSFORMATION

  • We added a light, fresh neutral paint color to the walls to brighten the space.

  • Installed an updated chandelier that works perfectly in this office, and still will, when/if a dining room table is under it.

  • An area rug to soften the space, help to decrease any noise, and allow for easy rolling of the chair.

  • The furnishings in here are top notch in quality, comfort, and appearance.

  • Timeless pieces that elevate and endure-because style should last longer than a trend.

This transformation has been one of our favorites to see. Bringing an unused room to life in the most aesthetically pleasing and functional way has been so rewarding for our client and SBH!
